Paramedics responded to a shooting on First Avenue this afternoon and declared all four victims dead on the scene.
Police say a gang of five men hijacked a truck near Selby and abandoned it in Kibler Park after offloading the cargo.
Police are investigating a case of armed robbery, attempted murder and truck hijacking in after the fatal shooting.
Travelling in different vehicles the men were cornered on First Avenue in Rosettenville, and a shootout erupted.
Residents on First Avenue watched as investigators comb the scene of the shootout for evidence.
The police’s Katlego Mogale said, “Five unlicensed firearms were recovered as well as the cargo that they had taken from the truck.”
