Chief Electoral Officer Mosotho Moepya made the announcement at a briefing at the IEC’s results operation centre in Pretoria today.
Moepya says they experienced two incidents where the presiding officers and their deputies were found in serious breach of the electoral code.
“Allowing voters who have not been granted special vote to vote and failing to secure the ballot boxes, they have been summarily dismissed.”
He says isolated incidents where the correct procedures were not followed were also reported.
