MOSSEL BAY NEWS - After four decades since its establishment, Ridgeview Primary School finally boasts a school hall. The hall, recently completed, was used for the first time appropriately in celebration of the learners' academic achievements following the first terms.
On Friday, the brand new hall was packed during a thanksgiving service. As part of the programme, the top 10 academic achievers received their certificates of merit.
The official opening of the hall will only follow in June when the sponsors and members of the Western Cape Department of Education will be available to reveal a special plaque to commemorate this milestone.
The school was particularly proud of having Father Lyndon du Plessis as one of the guest speakers. Father Du Plessis is noted as one of the first learners at the school and is also the first to have become an Anglican priest.
In his vote of thanks, member of the parent committee, Matthews Ntshanyana reminded all that the school hall is a great asset to the community and therefore, is it is a shared responsibility to treasure and look after it.
