MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Two young men were stabbed fatally in separate incidents in Dube Street, Asla Park, on Sunday, 17 November.
In the first incident, at 01:15, a 20-year-old man was stabbed multiple times, allegedly by a group of 12 people.
He cannot be named until all his next-of-kin have been informed of his death.
KwaNonqaba Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, said the man and his friend were walking in Dube Street, when they were approached by the large group.
The group then allegedly chased the two men before catching up with the victim, assaulting him and stabbing him.
Kapp said the man was declared dead on the scene by emergency medical services.
He said two men were taken in for questioning, but no arrests had been made.
Kapp said that in the second incident, Jason-Kirk Damon (23) was stabbed multiple times just after 08:00 on Sunday.
He said Damon had been in Dube Street, walking to the shops, when a man attacked him. He had multiple stab wounds to the back and one to his side.
Kapp said Damon was rushed to Mossel Bay Provincial Hospital, where he died later.
No arrests had been made in the murder of Damon, Kapp said. At this stage, the incidents are not linked. Kapp said nothing was stolen from the victims.
Damon's mother, Claudine Damon-Patel, well-known in the community, said she was still in a state of disbelief and shock. She said Damon was her right hand. Damon-Patel added that her son had celebrated his 23rd birthday last week.
