MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Two men appeared in court on Monday, 24 March in connection with a break-in at a home in a Dana Bay housing complex last Wednesday, 19 March.
According to Dana Bay Neighbourhood Watch's Otto Ploog, Kilo-9 Security Services informed the neighbourhood watch about an attempted break-in at the house.
Ploog said the neighbourhood watch reaction team was then deployed, along with staff from two security companies, Unic Security and DBS Garden Route.
The two suspects were then arrested.
KwaNonqaba Police Station spokesperson Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp said the suspects, aged 26 and 36, had allegedly gone to the house in the housing complex on 18 March. A case of housebreaking was opened by the home owners the following morning.
On the evening of 19 March, the two allegedly came back to the same house and attempted to break in. They were subsequently arrested and a case of trespassing was opened that night.
Kapp said the two made their first appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on 20 March.
They appeared again on 24 March, however, the outcome of their appearance was not known by the time of publishing.
