DANA BAY NEWS - Kwanonqaba police made a breakthrough with the arrest of two suspects following a house robbery in Dana Bay in the early hours of this morning.
Police spokesperson Warrant officer Kappie Kapp says police responded to the house robbery at E. Grata Street at around 01:45.
On arrival they found a 32-year-old resident who told police that he was accosted by two suspects, of which one had a firearm.
A preliminary investigation suggests that the pair ransacked the house and took several items before they fled the scene on foot.
Kapp says police followed up on leads and went to a house in Mzola Street in Asla Park where they found the suspects.
“The police found several items which included a television, laptops, cell phones, clothing, shoes, keys and electrical appliances in their possession. These items with an estimated value of R100 000 were confiscated and the suspects arrested.”
The suspects aged 32 and 37, both Mozambican nationals, remain in police custody.
They are expected to make their first court appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrates’ court on Monday, 28 July on charges of house robbery and possession of stolen property.
