MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Three suspects appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court today Friday, 8 September, on a charge of hijacking following an incident that occurred on Tuesday, 5 September, in Marsh Street, Mossel Bay.
Circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated, but the preliminary investigation reveals that on that day, at 01:00, the victim allegedly stopped at a red traffic light.
According to reports, three unknown men approached the vehicle, with one person allegedly armed with a firearm.
According to Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, police communications officer, the victim and his passenger were forced out of their vehicle, and the suspects took the vehicle.
A well-coordinated search followed, leading to the recovery of the vehicle and an imitation firearm in Alhof Drive.
The Mossel Bay Police management commended the efforts of Visible Policing Unit , Crime Prevention, Mossel Bay Police detectives and the Vehicle Theft Unit from George, which led to the arrest of three suspects.
