MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Advertiser is overwhelmed and delighted at the response to its Oliver Twist Project, "Appeal for help for hostel children".
The Oliver Twist Project identified a hostel in George where the children would benefit greatly from receiving a few basics. So far the following have been received to give to them: 30 toothbrushes, 82 sample toothpaste tubes, two large toothpaste tubes, two pairs of boys' socks, three pairs of girls' socks, one women's deodorant, 13 cakes of soap, 13 padlocks and 13 packs of sanitary pads.
A huge thank you goes to all who have contributed.
Still required are:
- Soap.
- Roll-on anti-perspirant for boys and girls.
- Hand cream / body lotion.
- Sanitary pads.
- Padlocks. Each hostel child has two lockers. Some of the children have no padlocks for their lockers, so their personal items get stolen.
The Oliver Twist Project has also contributed knitted beanies and gloves for the children which knitters in the Mossel Bay area have donated. Heartfelt thanks go to all the kind knitters in the area. There are enough beanies for the children now.
If you are able to donate the other items for the hostel children, please contact Susan Graaff at the Mossel Bay Advertiser (044 691 1768 or mblegals@groupeditors.co.za) or drop off your contributions at the Advertiser at 9 Church Street.
