MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The first day of the SA Senior Tug of War Championships was jam-packed with action and fierce competition today, 1 August at the Hartenbos ATKV Amphitheatre.
The championships will continue tomorrow at the same venue.
Barries Barnard, president of the Eden Tug of War Federation. Barnard previously told the Mossel Bay Advertiser that these championships would be attended by seven regions, including Eden, Overberg, Winelands, Free State, Northern Cape, Gauteng and Cape Metropole.
He had said that the championships will determine not only this year's championships, but also who will represent the country next year.
The championships this year will see U18 and U23 teams compete.
The second leg of the competition will start up 09:00 tomorrow, 2 August. Admission is free. A fee for R50 per vehicle for safe parking is payable.
