MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Municipality reminded its residents that it will conduct urgent pipeline repairs in the vicinity of the Klein Brak River Water Treatment Works.
It urged residents from Monte Christo (Hartenbos) to Vleesbaai to drastically reduce their water usage until Friday 1 August, by, for example, not irrigating gardens or washing vehicles using a garden hose.
This includes all areas on the Mossel Bay side of the Klein Brak River.
Riverside, Klein Brak and all residential areas up to Glentana are thus exempt from this request.
The municipality said if the water consumption is not reduced, reservoir levels will rapidly drop and empty before the repairs are completed to restore the water levels and water supply.
The repairs start today, 29 July, and are expected to be completed by Thursday 31 July.
The municipality stated that this is not a water supply interruption, but that consumers are merely requested to limit their water consumption to avoid possible water shortages.
