MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Municipality has urged its residents to reduce water use immediately during some planned maintenance to a 800mm pipeline.
The Langeberg Reservoir dropped from 99% to 97% in just 45 minutes since the closure of the pipeline this morning, Monday 24 November, said the municipality.
It said residents’ co-operation is critical to safeguard supply during the final repairs. It issued notices of the repairs ahead of today’s pipeline closure.
It listed key dates and actions as follows:
• Now: Cut water use as much as possible
• 24 to 28 November: Pipeline repair period - savings essential
• Until 5 December: Continue with reduced use to refill reservoirs.
The municipality said it sincerely apologised for any inconvenience and emphasised: “Ongoing maintenance is vital to ensure the longevity of our infrastructure and the sustainability of essential services for all residents.”
