MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Provincial Traffic chief for Mossel Bay, Reinet Sarikakis, has appealed for motorists to be patient on the roads.
She noted that yesterday morning alone, she had seen three near accidents which could have been avoided if motorists had been more patient.
Mossel Bay Advertiser contacted her for information about a minor motor incident on Louis Fourie Road, near the intersection with Mossel Street at the Mikeva Centre in Heiderand yesterday afternoon.

This was when she noted the importance of patience and carefulness on the roads.
Also, at 09:00 today there was a minor incident near the turn-off to Hart & Bosch Village / Salt & Copper restaurant.
'Fender benders'
Sarikakis said: "We have several fender bender accidents."
She extended a warm welcome to holiday makers in Mossel Bay, but appealed to their "sensibilities" and "sense of patience and calm".
Sarikakis said: "Rather be patient and spend five minutes longer on the road, than five hours dealing with damages to your vehicle and making affidavits at a police station."
Referring to the weekend of 30 November, when the MosJazz festival and the Matriekbaai took place in Mossel Bay, and there was tremendous congestion on roads in and around Mossel Bay, Sarikakis noted that it was an unusual weekend, with a large volume of traffic on the roads, because of these two major events in town.
Roadworks
It was also Black Friday on 29 November. Roadworks had compounded the problem. Provincial Traffic had had to close the off-ramp at Salt & Copper restaurant on 29 November, because of congestion.
"I want to avoid doing that in future," Sarikakis said.
She noted that conditions on the roads are exceptional currently, because although construction work is not taking place on the roads right now, the construction apparatus and restrictions are still in place on some roads, slowing down traffic.
She said that when there were minor accidents, such as on Friday, 29 November, emergency services, police and tow trucks came to attend to the scene and that this caused further traffic congestion.
These situations could be avoided by motorists being patient and careful on the roads.
