MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) SWD region held a men's fellowship camp at the Calitzdorp Spa Resort recently. The main message which came across at the camp was: "If ever there were a need for true fathers, it is today."
The facilitator, Pastor Shaun Eagan, said at the beginning of the camp: "It is my joy to present this subject, 'Bringing heaven home', aiming to restore manhood in a fatherless generation and aiming for all to be a spiritual father to a man of God who is doing the work of fathering."
He said many youths were raised without fathers and even in the church there was a lack of true fathers in the faith.
It was mentioned that the apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 4:15: "For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet ye have not many fathers."
The camp was attended by representatives and pastors of the 42 congregations as far as Fraserburg which fall in the AFM SWD serving area.
