MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The KwaNonqaba Police management have lauded the efforts of Warrant Officer Geoffrey Moos, following the successful conviction and sentencing of a man on charges of murder and the possession of a dangerous weapon.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp said the man, Daniel Mohloninyane (35), was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court for the murder of Thembinkosi Zonke on 24 May 2022, at the informal settlement New Rest, in Asla Park, Mossel Bay.
Mohloninyane stabbed Zonke, who died as a result. Mohloninyane was further sentenced to one year's imprisonment for the possession of a dangerous weapon. The two sentences will run concurrently.
KwaNonqaba Police detective head Captain Theresa Annandale said Moos's dedication and thorough investigation led to the successful arrest, conviction and sentencing of Mohloninyane.
