GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon, in light of the SA Weather Service severe weather warning, urged the public to take caution along the entire Western Cape coastline during the next 48 hours.
Storm winds are expected to cause rough seas. “Strong rip currents are expected.
Only swim on beaches where there is life guard supervision. Rock anglers are advised to wear life jackets. Be very mindful when crossing or swimming in rivers near river mouths.”
Lambinon also warned against the spring tide peaking on 28 September, which is expected to have a compound effect on sea conditions.
