MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The next meeting on the Mossel Bay Sport and Recreation Festival will take place on Tuesday, 11 June, in the municipal council chamber at 101 Marsh Street at 14:00.
The Mossel Bay Municipality is the co-ordinator of the festival. All are welcome, according to a municipal notice.
This year the festival will take place from 14 September to 12 October. It will be the sixth consecutive festival.
It is one of the largest sporting events in the country and one of the events organised by the Mossel Bay Municipality with the aim of uplifting communities and encouraging and promoting a healthy lifestyle and boosting tourism and the local economy.
More than 35 sports codes are accommodated. Highlights of the festival include the PetroSA Marathon, the Moss March fun walk, the KFC Point High School Cricket Festival, the Point Top 10 Athletics Competition and the Rural Mayoral 7s Cup for rugby, soccer and netball. The motorsport event (spinning) is also extremely popular.
