Here is a summary of some of the ongoing cases.
Three accused of murder in regional court
The three men accused of killing André 'Attie' Peterson (42) in 2023 are set to appear in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on 13 November.
Mandlenkosi Tamase (20), Sinaxolo Stimela (21) and Gershwin Johnson (28) allegedly stabbed Peterson to death on 28 October 2023. The KwaNonqaba Police arrested Tamase and Stimela after a year-long investigation.
Johnson, who at the time of his co-accused's arrests was already in Voorberg Prison in Porterville serving a sentence for an assault that took place in Mossel Bay in 2024, was officially charged with Peterson's murder on 15 January this year.
The three accused last appeared in regional court on 19 September when the matter was postponed.
Malgas murder: Son and co-accused in regional court
The 20-year-old son of murder victim Jonathan Malgas (40) and his 18-year-old co-accused appeared in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on 18 September.
The son, Curtis de Bruin, and his co-accused, Kean October, were arrested shortly after Malgas was fatally stabbed in Johnson Street, Asla Park, on the evening of 22 January. They were denied bail on 25 February and remain behind bars.
They are expected to appear again in the regional court on 12 November on a charge of murder.
Woman accused of former rugby player's murder appears in court
Yolanda Kiewit (47) appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on 12 September in connection with the murder of former Mossel Bay Barbarians rugby player Leeroy Muller.
Muller was fatally stabbed in the head in Mzathi Street in Asla Park, KwaNonqaba, in the early hours of 22 July. Kiewit was arrested on the scene that same morning. She was granted bail of R1 000 on 15 August.
She is set to appear in court again on 7 November.
Teens accused of Herbertsdale murder back in court
The three teenagers who allegedly stabbed Tashwill Daniels (29) to death outside his Herbertsdale home on
20 January appeared in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on Monday 29 September.
On the evening of 20 January, a group of people had been throwing rocks at Daniels' house. When he appeared outside to speak to the group, a scuffle broke out and he was stabbed.
Emergency medical workers declared him dead on the scene, and the three minors were arrested shortly afterwards. They were granted bail of R1 000 each and were released into the custody of their parents on 24 February.
They are expected to appear in court again 28 October.
Woman to make first appearance in regional court on murder charge
Ashlin Cupido (32), the woman accused of stabbing the 28-year-old Sabelo Siyamthanda Zigana in Asla Park, KwaNonqaba, in April, made a brief appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Friday 26 September.
Cupido allegedly stabbed Zigana in the Endlovini informal settlement on the evening of 13 April, before calling the KwaNonqaba Police out to the scene. She was arrested that same evening.
On 16 April, she was released on bail of R300. The case has been transferred to the Mossel Bay Regional Court where she is expected to make her first appearance on 10 November.
KwaNonqaba murder case postponed
Bradley Steyn (21), who stands accused of fatally stabbing the 22-year-old Johan van Zyl on 27 July, appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court last Tuesday, 23 September.
The KwaNonqaba Police Station's spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, previously told Mossel Bay Advertiser that the police had been called out to the Mossel Bay Provincial Hospital at about 05:00 that morning following a report from the staff about a young man who had died of multiple stab wounds to his body.
The deceased was identified as Van Zyl, and Steyn was arrested in connection with the murder shortly afterwards.
He was denied bail on 25 August and is set to appear in court again on 10 November. The case was postponed for further investigation.
