KWANONQABA NEWS - The KwaNonqaba Police arrested two suspects, aged 22 and 32, on Monday 12 January in connection with a stolen vehicle.
According to Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, the KwaNonqaba Police Station’s spokesperson, the vehicle had been stolen from a residence in Adriaans Avenue in Asla Park on Sunday 11 January.
It was found abandoned in the KwaNonqaba area later that same day, stripped of various parts, including its four tyres.
Kapp told Mossel Bay Advertiser Constable Hlumelo Mnyaluza, the newest addition to the KwaNonqaba Police Station, had received some information about the parts on Sunday.
The following day, he accompanied the KwaNonqaba Crime Prevention Unit’s (CPU) Sergeant Janine Adams, Constable Adrian Sherriff, Constable Tsepo Sirae and Constable Masamkhele Judge as they went out to locate the parts, and found them in the suspects’ possession.
The suspects appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 15 January and face charges of theft and possession of stolen property.
The KwaNonqaba Police’s management have praised Mnyaluza and the CPU’s efforts for their investigations.
Adams also thanked the KwaNonqaba community for their involvement, and added that Mnyaluza has a bright future with the police.
