MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay man and Diaz Primary School educator, Anton Siebert, has recently published a book of poems titled Tussen Liefde en Littekens.
The book consists of 21 poems, in both English and Afrikaans, and touches on a variety of themes including love, heartbreak and faith in the Lord.
Siebert told Mossel Bay Advertiser where the inspiration behind his poetry came from.
"I have been through a lot in my life, through a lot of hurt and disappointment. By writing and putting my hurt into words, it has helped me heal my broken parts and thus make myself a better man and person," he said.
Tussen Liefde en Littekens is his first book and one that has been a longtime coming.
Siebert decided to take a chance by self-publishing his book, believing that if only one person is touched by his work it would be more than enough.
"I wrote it as it came to my heart and then let it flow through my pen to paper," says Siebert of his writing process. "Some days I could write two to three poems and then months passed before I wrote another," he said.
