MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - Shannon Kiewiet of Civic Park, Mossel Bay, is pleased to have had a small role in the television series, The Aunt Sylvie Show, on eTV.
Kiewiet is signed with Gemini Model and Talent Agency, owned by Frieda van der Walt, in Mossel Bay.
The show, comprising two seasons, broadcasts every Sunday at 18:00 on eExtra, on channel 196.
It is currently in its first season.
The Aunt Sylvie Show sitcom was born out of the Ouma Sarie television series.
Aunty Sylvia was a friend of the character Ouma Sarie in the series, played by Moses Williams, who conceptualised Ouma Sarie.
Because her character was so popular, Aunty Sylvia now has her own show and Ouma Sarie appears on it every now and then.
Kiewiet, whose funny scene took place in the first episode of the series on 13 April, played a handyman who fixed a roof.
He fell and was injured while busy with the job and returned to fetch his cellphone, which he left in the ceiling.
Kiewiet says: "I was really excited to get the role. I tackled it with passion. It was always my dream to be an actor."
Aged 40, he is married and has a daughter.
“I'm currently unemployed. I used to work on the PetroSA platform - the Orca.
"I made food and did cleaning work.”
The role of Aunty Sylvia is played by Oudtshoorn actress Mirinda Ntantiso.
