MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A well-known Mossel Bay businessman (61) appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court yesterday, 30 March, for the alleged sexual assault of two minors that took place between 2002 and 2012.
A Southern Cape Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, said the sexual assault case was opened by two sisters last week, who were between 10 and 11 when the alleged assault began in 2002.
The man is not related to the two victims.
Pojie said the man surrendered himself to the police and was then arrested and processed by the investigating officer on this case, Warrant Officer Alistair Rezant of the Mossel Bay Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit.
He was granted bail of R2 000, and the matter was postponed to 18 May.
Pojie said investigations into the case are ongoing.
