MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Are you financially, spiritually, physically and emotionally ready to retire?
If not, you should consider rather continuing working until you are.
These are the views of Christo Maree, himself a retiree and a firm believer that your retirement years can be the best influential years of your life - if you are prepared.
Maree was a speaker at the July Business Chamber Network held at Fiona Williamson Attorneys’ brand-new renovated offices in Mossel Bay.
His topic, ‘Purposeful retirement with contentment’, spoke to a large percentage of the attendees. According to him, retirement is not just a downscale, it is a total refocus.
Vuvu Myeko of the Crosslink Academy highlighted their work with the Mossel Bay youths with matric.
The academy has several courses available for them, and part of the programme is to place these students in the workplace for them to get work experience before they qualify.
She also asked the guests to suggest areas in the workplace where they need specific skills.
Vision 2050 and the progress it is making in the various sectors in Mossel Bay were highlighted by Francois Botha.
He quoted Peter Drucker: “The best way to predict the future is to create it,” and he invited the guests to attend the last four upcoming sector sessions.
Williamson and her team made sure everyone’s glasses were charged and a food wagon supplied the most delicious eats while the guests mingled and networked.
