MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Curro Mossel Bay’s main man of 2025, head boy Musa Ngonongono, had sleepless nights leading up to the matric results, but the moment that SMS came though, he was over the moon.
Curro continued its 100% pass rate streak, making this year the 11th in a row.
For Musa, the year was insane, he said. “It started off great and then boom, June exams, you know, back to reality. After that it was just back into the books and actually realising that life is getting serious. And then, here we are after the November finals, feeling great, feeling good. The year in general was just… up and down, roller coaster.”
The challenges he mainly faced were expectations.
“Leading up to matric, everyone is expecting you to pull up your socks, which is a good thing, but at the same time, we all aren’t gifted the same way, you know. So, it’s like, you have to meet those expectations, but at the same time, actually realise that you might be meant for something else. The ups, were figuring yourself out, but the down, was getting there.”
Now, having gotten off the roller coaster that is the matric year, he anxiously awaits final acceptance from the universities he applied to, his heart set on Stellenbosch. “It’s just another stress coming up, but I’m very confident. I know things will go great. All glory to God.
He enjoys interacting with people, but at the same time has a passion for the human body. With this in mind, human resources or physiotherapy are two career paths he’s considering for his future.

And for those boarding the 2026 matric roller coaster, he shared a message he would have liked to have heard:
“Something that I don’t think I was told, is: be you, do you, keep moving forward. Because you’re going to fall, you’re going to stumble, you are not going to meet some people’s expectations. At the same time, some of those people didn’t bring you where you are, so you don’t really owe them anything. But, also keep an eye out for the people who were there for you, because you have a lot to thank them for. Be grateful, be humble, keep moving forward. Just be yourself and make things happen."
