MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Local organisations and conservancies plan to make some big waves this weekend for this year’s International Coastal Clean-up Day, on Saturday 20 September.
Several local organisations will be hosting various clean-ups along the greater Mossel Bay coastline, from Great Brak River to Vleesbaai.
The organisations involved are the Mossel Bay Conservancy, Great Brak River Conservancy, the Midbrak and Dana Bay Conservancies, the Stranded Marine Animal Rescue Team, the Earth Legacy Foundation, the Wildlife Crime Information Network, Surfer Kids, IOceans Trust, Springer Bay and Fransmanshoek Conservancy.
The various clean-ups will take place at the following beaches at these times:
• Suiderkruis Beach, Great Brak River at 10:00
• Kusweg in the Midbrak area at 08:30
• Little Brak River Beach at 08:30
• Hartenbos Beachfront at 09:00
• Dias Beach at 09:00
• The Point Beach at 09:00
• Dana Bay 1st, 2nd and 3rd Beach near Moquini Coastal Estate at 08:30
• Springer Bay at 09:00
• Vleesbaai near Fransmanshoek Conservancy at 09:00.
Yellow bags will be provided to those who join the clean-ups.
