The Mossel Bay Municipality said it is important to note that Dana Bay is not suitable for swimming due to dangerous currents. It urged beach-goers not to swim in this area.

Lifeguards on duty at these beaches

MOSSEL BAY NEWS -  Lifeguards are on duty daily from 09:00 to 18:00 during the holiday season.

Beaches and dates:

• Blue Flag and main beaches (1 December - 2 February): Little Brak River, Santos, De Bakke, Dias, Hartenbos, Glentana and Great Brak River Mouth.
• Other beaches (13 December - 11 January): Gleniqua, Onderwyser, Outeniqua, Dwarsweg, Pienaar, Suiderkruis, Souwesia, Nooitgedacht, Koffiehuis, Bay View, Tweekuilen, Point (tidal pool and Poort), Boggomsbaai, Vleesbaai and Hartenbosmond.
