DANA BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay Municipality has noted that the following roadworks will take place near Dana Bay, as confirmed by the consultant of the South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL):
• A once-off, two-hour duration lane closure will take place on the bridge at the N2, on- and off-ramp near Dana Bay tomorrow, Thursday 10 October.
This will be implemented after the morning traffic rush has dissipated. Traffic flow will be maintained, but restricted to one lane each way.
This is to allow the land surveyor to set out the positions of the white painted lines on the road.
The closure itself will be short, affecting the traffic between the traffic lights at the turnoff to Dana Bay on Louis Fourie Road and the off-ramp from Louis Fourie Road on to the N2 towards George.
• On or around 21 October, the contractor intends to commence with replacing the old joints on the bridge over the N2 near Dana Bay.
This process will take about five days.
The traffic accommodation will take the form of lane closures during this period, and not full stop-go controls, so restricted traffic flow will be maintained. The work area required will be only over the length of the bridge itself. Should any changes occur, road users will be alerted.
