KWANONQABA NEWS - Two young soccers players from KwaNonqaba, Mossel Bay, were selected to represent South Africa in the annual Council of Southern Africa Football Association (Cosafa) soccer tournament.
Indiphile ‘Steve’ Mose (14) and Owam ‘Iniesta’ Nqayi (14) represented Mossel Bay and the Eden Region at the African Nations Schools U15 Championships in the tournament.
Both girls are in Grade Eight at Indwe Secondary and Hillcrest Secondary in Mossel Bay and play in local soccer clubs, the Milan Ladies FC and the Black Aces Ladies.
The tournament kicked off at the Idas Valley Sportsfield in Stellenbosch on Friday 5 December.
The finals took place on Sunday 7 December.

Other African countries competing in the Cosafa tournament included Angola, eSwatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Comoros, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
Molfa Women’s football co-ordinator, Ntombizanele Toti, said Mossel Bay is beaming with pride after these talented girls were selected to represent South Africa and wished them all the best in their football dreams.
These young girls had also competed in the Winter Schools Tournament played in Durban earlier this year.
