Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The case against Mossel Bay's Sergeant Jacobus ‘JM’ Spangenberg of the K9 Langeberg Unit and his co-accused Xolisa Msizi, was back in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court today, 23 January.
The pair are facing charges of fraud, corruption, defeating the ends of justice as well as possession of explosives.
Spangenberg was arrested on 8 October last year and Msizi the following day, following a three-year investigation by George’s Serious Organised Crime Unit into a 2022 operation that involved the discovery of an M26 hand grenade near KwaNonqaba.
Both of the accused were released on bail during previous court appearances. They are expected to appear in court again on 23 February for a regional court date.
