GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT NEWS AND VIDEO - Since the start of the lockdown, which has become increasingly more challenging, people have found various creative ways of keeping themselves and their children entertained.
Luckily these days we are allowed three hours to exercise outside our homes, but even this is merely a patch on what the extremely active Greenwood family from Fernridge in George is used to.
For them sitting still has never been an option and the confinement of lockdown has definitely released next-level creative juices.
Deon and Lizette Greenwood and their seven home-schooled children, Kayla (18), Tammy (14), Aden (13), Ivan (11), Nathan (8), Clara (6) and William (4), have recently come up with creative home-made video productions that are keeping the entire family busy.
The first two Greenwood family music videos are compilations of various songs relating to lockdown. In each of the scenes the family is dressed up in different outfits depicting their current reality, the things they wish they could do and the things they miss doing."With seven kids it's pretty hard to find something everyone can do and laugh about," says Deon.
"The videos actually started as a challenge from our pastor, Pierre Ferreira of Patria Church. We made him a video of us singing to him for his birthday. He returned the favour by sending us a thank-you video and the following Sunday during the online service he challenged me to make another one.
"That's when we started the project as a family."
Deon's brother, Arno, and their housekeeper cum nanny, Mada Majidu, have also been living with them since lockdown started on Friday 27 March.
Besides making videos, the Greenwood children stick to a strict daily schedule keeping busy with school work, exercise, reading and watching TV.
"It might seem like a concentration camp, but it keeps us all sane," laughs Deon.
