MOSSEL BAY NEWS - With her goal of being Hillcrest Secondary School’s top achiever of the Class of 2025 now achieved, Dimpho Gobongwana said she is ready to start work on her next goal: becoming a successful businesswoman.
Gobongwana received an 86% pass mark for her final exams, earning her the top position in her school. She said while she had expected the top marks, there was a part of her that doubted herself, too.
“I am actually still nervous. I don’t think I have fully absorbed the news,” she said.
Gobongwana said her matric year was not too difficult, but the workload was quite heavy.
“I had been studying hard to be the top performer in my grade since Grade 10. I was tired by the time it was the final exams.”
She added that her parents are extremely proud of her. “
They are so happy. They have been shouting out everywhere about my marks. I told them to stop, but they just carry on,” she laughed.
Now Gobongwana hopes to study business law at the University of the Western Cape.
She said her dream is to become a successful businesswoman and to open her first business within the next 10 years. She said the first one she wants to open is a restaurant with a large variety of spectacular-looking and tasty food.
