MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Municipality is hosting an open day for the disposal of hazardous waste.
This is your opportunity to get rid of items at no cost and at a convenient, nearby location.
Open days take place on:
- 8 December, Mossel Bay Town Hall, Marsh Street from 08:00 until 14:00.
- 9 December, municipal offices, Great Brak River from 08:30 to 14:30.
Items which can be disposed of:
- motor oil, oil filters, brake fluid, used antifreeze, tyres
- paint, paint thinner, turpentine
- pesticides or herbicides
- household batteries, CRTs, old TVs, miscellaneous electronics
- fluorescent tubes and globes, electronic waste (e-waste)
- household medical waste (needles and old medicine and tablets)
The following items are not accepted:
- explosives, ammunition, radioactive materials, controlled substances
Bear in mind:
- Bring the items you wish to dispose of in a strong box, preferably in their original, labelled containers.
- Do not mix products together.
- Be prepared to leave your containers, bearing in mind permit requirements and the vast number of people disposing of items.
