GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS -Sgt Anne Janse, who is attached to the George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS), urgently seeks the assistance of the public in tracing the 12-year-old, Zoan van Zyl, a resident at Môreson Children’s Home in George.
According to captain Malcolm Pojie, media liaison officer for the Southern Cape police, the child depicted was last seen at Môreson on 20 February 2022 at approximately 12:20.
“It is believed that his mother paid him a visit on the day, but left as it was outside visiting hours. It cannot be ruled out that they reunited later on and disappeared. The mother was homeless at the time and was unable to provide proper care for the 12-year-old. Hence his placement by court order at the Môreson Children’s home where he could be cared for.”
Attempts to trace the missing boy had been in vain thus far.
His whereabouts is unknown and an appeal is made to anyone that might know his whereabouts to please contact the investigation officer at 044 803 4621 or 082 522 1050 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
All information will be dealt with confidentially.
