MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Rotary Family Health Days campaign serves to bring integrated health services closer to the communities as part of the Department of Health's accelerated health programme.
This annual campaign will be rolled-out simultaneously in 120 sites/areas over a period of three days across the country between 3-5 October.
In Mossel Bay, members of the community can visit the following venues on these dates to benefit from the services offered:
Tuesday, 3 October open area opposite Kentucky at the Mosselbaai Mall; Wednesday, 4 October at the Alma Clinic, KwaNonqaba;
Thursday, 5 October at the Langeberg Mall, Voorbaai.
The campaign gives impetus to the Department of Health's efforts to ensure integrated mass health screenings in a bid to promote healthy lifestyles.
Members of the communities attending these events will receive free health services including the following:
- HIV Testing and Counselling
- TB Screening and Testing
- Diabetes Screening
- Hypertension Screening
- Provision of contraceptives
- Immunizations
- Hepatitis Screening, et cetera
The campaign takes place in partnership with the Rotarians for Family Health and Aids Prevention (RFHA), Rotarians in South Africa, PEPFAR, SABC Foundation, Caxton, Phila, Gilead Sciences, Alere, YFM, Cape Community Newspapers, University of Johannesburg, Gift of the Givers, Sesego Cares, Paprika and the NCRF.
