MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Isiphele Modwantsi (28), the man accused of murdering Ayadulela Williams (31) in Transand, KwaNonqaba, on 21 December last year, is set to appear in court again on 9 May.
Modwantsi allegedly stabbed Williams in the chest while Williams was standing outside his home in Transand.
Modwantsi was arrested a few hours after the incident. He had been arrested previously for allegedly assaulting Williams with a hammer on 24 August last year.
The matter went to court and Modwantsi was released on bail.
However, on 3 December, the case was struck from the court roll due to an outstanding investigation.
It is further alleged that on the morning of 21 December, Modwantsi had attempted to get Williams to drop the case against him and allegedly produced a knife.
Modwantsi was reportedly told to leave by people around Williams, however, that same evening, Modwantsi reportedly saw Williams outside his home and allegedly stabbed him in the chest.
Williams was declared dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
Modwantsi remains in police custody, as he was denied bail following his arrest in connection with the murder.
The matter was postponed to 9 May for further investigation.
