MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Imekhaya Primary School welcomed its excited Grade 1s and Grade Rs on the first day of school on Wednesday, 15 January.
There were 79 Grade 1s and 76 Grade Rs on the first day of school, but more learners were expected to attend the next day.
The little ones seemed very excited to start their school journey, accompanied by proud parents on their first day.
The school principal, Lamla Boyana, said many learners did not attend the first day of school due to the rain because they have to walk to school.
Boyana said the first day went well despite the rainy weather.
