MOSSEL BAY NEWS - ArtSpace, the performing arts organisation, is presenting a romantic Valentine’s Day concert at 19:30 on Friday, 14 February, at the Dutch Reformed Church hall (NG Klipkerk) in Church Street, Mossel Bay.
The concert will be given by the St Valentine’s Trio, which consists of Louise van Wyk-Visser on flute, Cornèl Engelbrecht on piano and Jewlin Jonkers on drums.
ArtSpace notes that the musicians are "highly talented and the concert promises to be a fine evening’s entertainment".
The three will be performing "light" works by, among others, Edith Piaff, Astor Piazzollo and Claude Bolling.
Louise obtained her BMus degree with flute as the main subject, under the late Eva Tamassy, and performs frequently as a solo artist and in chamber music concerts.
She has been complimented by the Italian maestro Rafaelli Trevisani on her beautiful tone and vibrato.
Cornèl earned his MMus degree, specialising in piano accompaniment, under the mentorship of professor Nina Schumann.
He is passionate about his craft and finds joy in making meaningful connections with others through his art, according to ArtSpace.
Jewlin, who shines as a drummer, is currently working towards completing his honours degree in accounting.
With a strong foundation in music, he has completed his Unisa music theory and practical exams up to Grade 5.
Doors open at 18:30 for the concert.
Bookings may be made via Abé Meintjes (083 268 3718). Bookings before 7 February qualify for the early bird special of R150 per person. Thereafter tickets are R170 each.
