MOSSEL BAY NEWS & VIDEO - The Great Brak Walk, initially postponed due to inclement weather, took place on Wednesday, 17 April.
According to Laurinda Smit, the organiser of the event, from late afternoon walkers gathered at the library and 153 walkers started the 5km route at 17:30.
The walk was declared a great success. The theme for the day was the "animal kingdom", and naturally, four-legged friends on leashes were also welcome.
The walking route stretched from the library parking lot to the R102 past the De Dekke Spar and back into Long Street to the library.
The registered non-profit organisation (NPO) which assists needy pets, Caws 4 Paws, was invited to the walk and entrants could donate cat and dog food.
Barry Greyvensteyn from Caws 4 Paws said the NPO received much-needed cat and dog food for their animal welfare outreach in Great Brak River from the generous participants.
