MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Buisplaas Community Festival took place this month in beautiful weather and it was a great success.
This is according to the Buisplaas Residents’ Association committee chairperson, Wendy Douglas.
The festival was on Saturday, 14 June, from 10:00 to 17:00 in the community hall.
It was a fundraising initiative of the management of the Buisplaas Residents’ Association, to uplift the community.
Buisplaas is a village on the Gourits River, between Mossel Bay and Herbertsdale.
At the festival, there was a pageant to choose a Mr and Miss Buisplaas, there were friendly sports matches, other fun activities and all sorts of eats.
Douglas said: “The residents’ association committee extends a hearty thank you to all who supported the activities and helped to make the festival a success.”
She thanked those who assisted with the beauty pageant: Fredelize Kannemeyer of Mossel Bay, Nathan Pillay, also of Mossel Bay, and Jacobus Lodewyk of Cape Town.
Douglas also extended her appreciation to those who helped with the junior rugby and netball matches: Tiaan Buis, Denver Buis, Lu-Vallen Dickson, Enid Williams and Zeralda Booysen.
