MOSSEL BAY NEWS - With his matric results received, Endinakho Diamond of Hillcrest Secondary School is now preparing to leave for Stellenbosch University to begin his tertiary studies for a chartered accountant.
Diamond had already been provisionally accepted at the end of his Grade 11 year, and will leave for Stellenbosch within the next two weeks.
He said when he received his results on 13 January, he had not expected to have done so well. "I am really happy with the results. I did better than expected and I just thank the Lord for that."
Diamond's matric year was an exceptionally tough one for him, and he said it felt like everything was against him.
His parents separated right before his final mathematics exam, which he said affected him deeply. He had many sleepless nights, trying to balance his studies and everything else.
At the end of it all, he managed to pull it off, receiving two distinctions and an overall average of 70.1%.
Diamond said when he spoke to his mother about his results, he first told her he had not done well at all. Then he handed her his matric certificate and watched her reaction.
He said he is excited for his new journey in 2026.
