MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Upgrading of Informal Settlements Programme (UISP) project has won the National Prize for the best Community Development project at the South African Institution Of Civil Engineering (SAICR) awards.
The Mossel Bay UISP Project was started to carry out phased upgrading of all informal settlements in the municipal area of Mossel Bay.
Upgrades are done for all eligible households living in the 28+ informal settlements and entails the formalisation of their living conditions.
The Kwanonqaba area contains the majority of the informal settlements, with others located in Brandwag, Great Brak River, and Ruiterbos.
