MOSSEL BAY NEWS & VIDEO - After extensive practising last week at the Extension 23 sports ground in Mossel Bay, the Western Province women's drill squad performed a drill exhibition through the Mossel Bay town centre on Friday, 21 January.
The exercise was to prepare the 72 women for the national drill competition, yesterday in Pretoria.
The competition was also to commemorate the 50th year of women in the South African Police Service (SAPS).
The police will be celebrating this milestone in different ways in the country until the end of the year. The first women were accepted in the SAPS in 1972.
