MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Tourists from all over the world, as well as domestic tourists, flock to Mossel Bay to enjoy her treasures.

Mossel Bay is officially home to the Best 4* Caravan and Camping Resort in South Africa: Dibiki Holiday Resort on the banks of the Hartenbos River.

For the second consecutive year, it has been awarded the prestigious Sanlam Top Destination Award, but this is not the only feather in its cap.

Dibiki is also in line for another national award, the Lilizela Tourism Award, later this month.

It already has the provincial title to its credit and will most probably walk away with the national one.

Dibiki's awards are not once-offs. This is the second Sanlam Top Destination Award within two years and the resort walked away with the national Lilizela Tourism Award in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. During 2017 it did not participate.

The Sanlam Top Destination Awards ceremony was held at The Bay Hotel, where 35 accommodation establishments from all over the country walked away with the winning title of Sanlam Top Destination in their respective categories and star grading.

The Western Cape walked away with 17 of the 35 awards.

Apart from Dibiki, the Garden Route claimed two more Top Destination Awards. These belong to Edenbrook Country House in Plettenberg Bay (Ungraded Country House) and Arendsrus Country Lodge George (Hotel three-star category).

In a separate category, Top Establishments, two other Mossel Bay establishments, The Point Village Hotel and the Santos Express Train Lodge on the water's edge, walked away with awards.
