MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - Khoisan Commissioner Graigh Cupido yesterday, 22 March in celebration of Human Rights Day visited the Point at Mossel Bay for a walk about to make a statement regarding the significance of the Khoisan in South Africa.
“We are indigenous. Today, is very significant for us to show the world that we are still here. We have always been just here, as the first nation of South Africa.”
Cupido, dressed in his full traditional garb explained that the Khoisan were coastal dwellers and therefore proudly showed off this shell necklace.
“This is more valuable to me than gemstones, because it signifies that the sea gives us life.”
