Despite the drop in temperature last Friday, the energy levels ran sky high. The 101 entries delivered 195 participants during the audition phase, which was supported by audiences of approximately 1500 members.
It was a tough battle among the 30 contestants selected for the semi-finals to finally deliver the top 20, who are to take part in the final showdown on Saturday, 16 June at 10:00 in the Mossel Bay town hall.
Entrance to the event is free, but the stakes are high, with R30 000 to be won, split into three performing arts categories, namely song, dance and rap.
"Hosting the semi-finals at the Bravo Lounge was a wonderful experience for the contestants, who were all too excited to perform in such a stunning venue. Some of them were completely overwhelmed and yet in others, it produced that star quality required to identify a winner," said Linda Saayman, one of the event organisers.
The competition is presented by the Mossel Bay Municipality in order to provide a platform for the youth to showcase their talent, as opposed to become victims of the social ills plaguing society.
A special thanksgiving service will be hosted on Sunday, 17 June at 15:00 in the Mossel Bay Town Hall as an appropriate ending for this event.

It was a tough battle between the talented contenders, showing what they’ve got to win their share of the R30 000 prize money in the ‘Mossel Bay’s Got Talent’ competition.
