MOSSEL BAY NEWS -The crew of Mossel Bay's NSRI Station 15 will be "stuck" in a life raft and Optimist sailing boat this Sunday, 25 October at Santos Beach.
They will be participating in the inaugural the Little Optimist Trust Global Challenge.
During this challenge, Optimist sailors and other sailors in South Africa and the world are challenged to sail an Optimist dinghy for charity. Optimist sailing is one of the largest sailing classes in the world.
"We will be raising awareness of the importance of safety in the water and raising funds to rebuild our boathouse to accommodate our coming rescue vessel.
"Our crew will sit in a life raft and an Optimist sailing dinghy offshore of Santos Beach from 09:00 until 15:00. We hope to see everyone there, giving us as shout-out on Sunday," says an NSRI Station 15 spokesperson.
