MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Rough seas played havoc with the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) pipeline marker buoys this past weekend.
Not only did two of these buoys wash on to Bayview Beach, but for Sanett Badenhorst and her children, Zanielle and Jeanne-Pierre, an early morning walk on the beach turned into a "treasure hunt".
TNPA arranged to recover the marker buoys on Monday, 15 October.
Some marine fatalities were found. A dead shark was entangled in red nylon twine. Dead seal cubs and a dead penguin were also spotted. The heavy seas also spat out some pollution.

Sanett said she found anglers' hooks and sinkers.
It turns out this is not the Transnet CBM constant mooring buoy, but in fact a pipeline marker buoy that was recovered from the beach at Bayview.
