Q: Who or what influences your style of dress?
A: I've a passion for fashion and style - so much so that I've adopted the lifestyle of being a dandy. I preach the art of style, especially vintage, through the Afro-Dandy movement.
I'm part of a society of well-dressed men, who are passionate about fashion.
My style is influenced and guided by an international Afro-Dandy from Namibia, known as Loux, The Vintage Guru.
Q: What is your background and what are you studying at UWC?
A: I grew up in a large, loving Mossel Bay family. We moved to Knysna in 2010, but I matriculated in Oudsthoorn in 2016. I'm doing a BComm.
Q: Who took the photos of you? Do you model?
A: The images were captured by dandy photographers and creatives. Dandyim is an art of preaching sartorial things, hence we capture such stories. I don't model for agencies, but rather am rooted in the culture and art of the Afro-Dandy movement.
Q: Are you artistic?
A: I consider myself an influential creative. As an Afro-Dandy, I tell stories from the past through my vintage style, deeply embracing and expressing our roots as dignified, respectful, stylish men.
Q: What is your take on men's fashion?
A: Fashion or style is not just about dressing up and looking clean. I'ts the art of keeping well groomed. As they say, "when you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you do good".
Q: What have been your favourite items this past winter?
A: Double-breasted blazers. I am actually a collector of these.
Q: What are you looking forward to in summer in terms of fashion?
A: Summer is a beautiful, hot season. I look forward to all the fashionable events to be hosted. I can already see myself flaunting a silky vintage garment while enjoying the good weather at the beach.
Q: What are your goals? The way forward for you?
A: While finishing my studies, I've a goal of growing my business venture (The Dandified Cartel) to new heights, where I could be designing and showcasing my very own garments at various fashionable events. Additionally, I am working towards becoming an ambassador for a huge brand. Lastly, I've a vision of being honoured as one of the best influencers of style globally in future.
