MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Six armed men opened fire on a shop owner and his friend during an armed robbery on Thursday, 6 August.
The incident took place at the Sunrise Minimarket in Mpetswa Street at 20:55, as the shop owner was locking up.
Six armed suspects, wearing balaclavas and face masks accosted the shop owner and his friend, who was at the scene to offer the shop owner a lift home. As the victims fled, the robbers fired several shots at them. No injuries were reported.
The robbers fled with cash, two cellphones, two electricity vending machines and other items. No description of the suspects is available nor has any arrests been made.
“The police urges the community to assist them in providing information regarding the incident,” says spokesperson of the Da Gamaskop Police, Capt Wollie Fourie. The investigating officer is Wo Yssel (044 606 2200).
