MOSSEL BAY NEWS - An open day for the disposal of hazardous household waste is on 11 March at the Mossel Bay Town Hall in Marsh Street.
There will be an open day on 12 March at the municipal offices in Great Brak River.
On both these days items can be be dropped off between 08:30 and 14:30.
If you have the following household hazardous waste items at home and don't know how to properly dispose of them, drop them off during the open days:
- Motor oil, oil filters, brake fluid
- Used antifreeze
- Paint, paint thinner, turpentine
- Pesticides or herbicides
- Household batteries
- CRTs, old TVs, miscellaneous electronics
- Tyres
- Fluorescent tubes and blobes
- Household medical waste (needles and old medicine and tablets)
The following items are NOT accepted:
- Explosives
- Ammunition
- Radioactive Materials
- Controlled Substances
Additional Information
- Bring the items you wish to dispose of in a strong box preferably in their original, labelled containers.
- Do not EVER mix products together.
- Be prepared to leave your containers, because of permit requirements and the number of people who drop off waste.
