MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay has become a vital part of the Garden Route Pilgrimage of Hope hike.
The Garden Route Pilgrimage of Hope is a 14-day hike over 270km, starting in Uniondale and ending at the iconic St Blaize Lighthouse at the Point in Mossel Bay.
The route stretches over three mountain passes, the Karoo and a coastal corridor to the lighthouse.
At the most recent municipal council meeting, it was decided directional signage will be painted at approximately 32 locations to guide hikers on the route.
This will comprise directional signs such as arrows and lighthouse images on lamp poles or pavements. The signage will be subject to conditions outlined by the municipality and will be applicable to the route from Great Brak River to the St Blaize Lighthouse.
With the launch of Mossel Bay's new tourism campaign, Iconic Mossel Bay, supported by the Mossel Bay Municipality, the Pilgrimage of Hope finding its conclusion at the lighthouse, is truly a feather in the cap for Mossel Bay and will boost tourism.
